2027: Tinubu seeks Southeast’s unanimous support for re-election

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has seeked unanimous support of the entire Southeast and the nation for his re-election come 2027.

Tinubu disclosed this at the celebration of Silver Jubilee for the ruler of Amaifeke community in Orlu Local Government, His Royal Majesty, Eze Dr. E.C Okeke, held at Eze Imo Palace, Owerri in Imo State dated, 23rd August 2025.
The President ably represented by the Minister of Works, Sen. (Engr) David Umahi stated that the Southeast people have a pride of place in his Renewed Hope agenda of rebuilding the country and making Nigeria the pride of the continent of Africa.

He asked for unanimous support for his re-election come 2027, noting that South East has not had it this good in terms of inclusiveness in the economic and political landscape of the nation.
In a statement, the President made reference to the new trajectory of road infrastructure transformation being witnessed in all the parts of South East, including the Onitsha -Enugu road.

Also, Owerri-Aba road, Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway, Enugu -Abakaliki dualization, Calabar-Ebonyi- Benue- Nasarawa- Abuja Renewed Hope Legacy project, bridges, among others.

Speaking of the celebrant on his long and eventful 25 years of royal reign, Tinubu congratulated him, described him as a man of profound integrity and leadership asset not only to Imo State but also to the entire South East and the nation.


In his remarks, the Governor of Imo State, Sen Hope Odidika Uzodimma expressed pleasure with the esteemed presence of the dignitaries who graced the occasion especially the representative of the President.

He offered the congratulations of the Governors of South East to His Royal Majesty, who is also the Chairman of the South East Council of Traditional Rulers.

He commended him for the leadership and capacity he showed in coordinating and directing the affairs of the traditional institutions in South East, describing him as a royal father who embodies the finest traditional leadership and who serves his people with humility and integrity.
