The Heads of Civil Service of 36 states and FCT convened at Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy (FMCIDE) for presentation on
Implementation of the Electronic Content Management (ECM) system geared at engendering best practices in service reforms and enhanced productivity.
In a statement released which revealed that the presentation demonstrated by the Information Communication Technology (ICT) Department, FMCIDE in collaboration with technical partners held in Abuja was part of the Study Tour experience given the visiting team in the 2025 Civil Service Week.
The Perm Sec, FMCIDE Rafiu Adeladan in his address revealed that this provide opportunity to showcase compliance of FMCIDE to directives of the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) which mandated digitalization, digitization of official files and records across Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDA’s).
Adeladan pointed out that, “Recognizing the limitations of a basic Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) the FMCIDE transitioned to ECM system, a more robust platform capable of supporting end-to-end Electronic file management and work flow automation.”
He charged the ICT team to showcase the Ministry’s Implementation status to further share insights into the experiences for benefit of the guests.
Following an enriching presentation alongside an interactive session with participants, Dr. Deborah Odoh, PS, Service Policies and Strategies Office of the OHCSF who represented the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Esther Didi Walson-Jack, expressed appreciation to PS, FMCIDE and his team for enlightenment on ECM proceedures to the Study Tour team.
PS, Career Management Office, OHCSF, Fatima Mahmood, PS, Service Welfare Office, Patience Oyekunle, PS Political and Economic Affairs Office, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), Engr. Nadungu Gagare were amongst other dignitaries present at the event.
