@47: How I struggled to stand out amidst contemporary – Ademuyiwa

“Celebrating another fulfilled year is awesome, looking back to where I’m coming from, the challenges encountered, and the achievement attained”, it’s purely God’s grace”.

These are words from an MBA Degree holder in Human Resource Management, a Certified Engineer working with the Nigerian Breweries Plc as Senior Area Sales Manager, a father of three lovely kids, Ademuyiwa Korede who clocked 47 two days ago, in this interview with Oluwaseun Sonde, speaks on how growing up was a bit challenging, how he struggled to stand out amidst contemporary and how he fought for what he believed is important for survival.

Who is Korede Ademuyiwa?

Korede Ademuyiwa was born 47 years ago to the family of Chief and Chief Mrs Ademuyiwa in Ifo, Ogun State. A family of eight where I am presently the 2nd after the demise of two, I attended Anglican Central School Oke-Nla Ifo and Anglican Grammar School Okenla Ifo as Primary and Secondary school respectively.

I had my Tertiary Education in Lagos at Yaba College of Technology known as YABATECH where I studied Electrical Electronics Engineering (Power Option) and proceeded to Shell Intensive training program (SITP) in Port Harcourt to study Instrumentation and Production Operations. Had my MBA in Human resource Management at LAUTECH Ogbomoso.

I practiced Engineering for two years before I diversifies to Sales. I am presently working with Nigerian Breweries Plc (A subsidiary of Heineken International) as a Senior Area Sales Manager and married to Mrs Felicia Abiola Ademuyiwa with three wonderful Kids.

How is it like celebrating another fulfilled year?

Celebrating another fulfilled year is awesome. Looking back to where I am coming from, the challenges encountered, and the achievement attained. It is purely God’s grace.

What is your greatest regret in life?

I don’t have cause to regret anything because God has been so faithful.

Can you take us through your experience of growing up, attaining this age?

Well! Thank God. Growing up was interesting and a bit challenging. Having need to struggle to meet up with living standard to achieving life goals while not having the basic requirement.

I struggled to stand out amidst contemporary and fought for what I believed is important for survival. Humility, respect, consistency, patience, and continuous learning from others and life have been of great help in attaining this age.

Tell us about your happiest moment in life?

My happiest moment was when God took over my burden of fear and replaced it with boldness and understanding of life.

What would be your advice to Nigerian youths aspiring to clock your age?

I would like to advise them to be prayerful and be contented. They should not run faster than their shadow. They should believed in God and wait for His plan for their life. Doing this, long life is sure.
