@60: Abike Dabiri-Erewa, an advocate of social justice, says Ooni

Paramount Ruler of Yorubaland, Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi has said the Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa is a patriotic Nigerian who has emblazoned her name on the international stage as an advocate of social justice and a loud voice of the voiceless.

The Monarch who disclosed this while congratulating the NIDCOM Boss on the occasion of her 60 years birthday, which is October 11, expressed his felicitation through statement released his Spokesman, Otunba Moses Olafare on Thursday.

Ooni described the former Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) celebrated broadcaster and three-term federal lawmaker as a worthy ambassador of the Yoruba race, using her office to resolve countless diplomatic and humanitarian issues, creating a good image for Nigeria in the global community.

“In my daily humanitarian activities, I have had cause to work closely with this great woman particularly on the repatriation of vulnerable young girls and youths in foreign lands and I am proud to say that Abike Dabiri-Erewa has been a helpful stakeholder.

“On this special occasion of her 60th birthday, I congratulate her very warmly as I wish her a healthy long life filled with prosperity.” The Ooni said.

Hon (Dr.) Abike Dabiri-Erewa who doubled up her celebration is among the 500 recipients of the National Honours Award, under the category of “Officer of the Order of the Niger, (OON)”, awarded by President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja recently.
