Abiodun: Ogun pensioners to get N1bn outstanding gratuities quarterly

As a follow-up to the promise made in the year 2021 to pay at least 500 million Naira quarterly out of the outstanding gratuities owed by the previous administration since 2011.

The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun on his social media platform on Monday, increased the payment to 1billion naira per quarter, so as to clear the inherited backlog as soon as possible.



The Governor who assured Pensioners in the state that payment of pensions would always receive priority attention within resources available, adding that his govt will do everything within its power to ensure they are well catered to.

According to him, “Today, in a bid to clear the inherited backlog as soon as possible, we have increased it to 1 biillion Naira per quarter”.



Governor Abiodun expressed his sincere appreciation to pensioners for their support over the years, and for their promise to ensure his success at the polls.

It was recorded in the statement of Monthly Breakdown and Analysis of the Ogun State Gratuity and Pension Payment, which indicated that a total sum of N78,567,913,997.48, had been released for the purpose.

According to a statement released from the Chief Press Secretary, Kunle Somorin sometime in October, the Dapo Abiodun-led administration decided to increase the quarterly payment from N500m to N600m, to expedite payment of the gratuities.
