The Anglican Grammar School Old Students Association (AGSOSA), Okenla Ifo, Ogun State, class of ’93 on Saturday, inaugurated new executives to oversee the affairs of the set for the next couple of years.
The inauguration which was made during the set’s End of The Year celebration in Ifo had Dotun Shofolahan who has remarkably coordinated the set for some years to retain the position of the Chairman while Taiwo Ogundeko chosen as Vice Chairman and Femi Oyebanjo as Vice Chairman 2, in diaspora.
Others are Ewedairo Afolabi as the Financial Secretary, Kehinde Kushimo as the Social Director, Azeez Adebesin as the Welfare Director, Wasiu Biobaku as Public Relations Officer and Bosede Adekunle as Assistant Public Relations Officers.
In her message, the newly inaugurated Vice Chairman, Taiwo Ogundeko called for joint support and collaboration among members home and abroad, according to her, “we can bring our set to an enviable height and unforgettable impacts in our lives.
“Also to our old school in as much we remain committed to achieving our goals in embarking on notable and more impactful projects as a give back to the community that made us”, she added.
“Without doubts, ’93 set is blessed with brains and minds that can change the story of Nigeria and the world as a whole, but we are yet to discover the talents, gifts and callings, these are words of the set Senior Prefect, Joseph Adediran.
He added, “Not minding everything that had happened either behind the curtain or on the open scenes, the ups and downs we have recorded in our midst are pointers to the fact that we’re endowed with great potentials of diverse means”.
Standing in for diaspora, Samuel Odeyinka who was the Labour Prefect, now based in United States called for improvement in the aspect of support, empowerment, sponsorship for students and renovation of the school building.
Bukola Onigbinde said, “personally, I think of my set as a group of people I can relate with no matter how long we’ve seen each other. The platform we created has created a bond like a home.
“But we can still improve by making it a home indeed. Let’s see ourselves as a go to person for one another. And we must strive to make effort to give back to our Alma mater. With God on side, we can achieve much of what we can’t imagine”, she added.
The event which was fun-filled as some of the members like Adedayo Adewunmi and Sola Odunodu spoke on humbleness, love for one another, devotion of members, Bimbola Adegboyega enlightened members on health and wellness, avoidance of alcohol among other things while organizing committee were well appreciated.
