The Anglican Grammar School Old Student Association (AGSOSA) has concluded plan to gift twenty brilliant students free WAEC registration, at a total cost of ₦590,000.
The association adopted the recommendations of the Research and Development Committee during its first Convention held at the School premises in Ifo, Ogun State on Saturday, 15th November, 2025.
According to the resolution reached at the first convention, the association also adopted career talks to be organized for students in terminal classes, both Junior and Senior Secondary Schools, at a cost of ₦150,000.
Revealing that national award shall be instituted for most outstanding student in each class from JSS 1 to SS 3, it added that one outstanding teacher in both the Junior, Senior School shall be recognised and awards will be presented during the School’s valedictory programme.
It further said the activities marking the School’s 50th Anniversary shall be held over three days in the third week of September 2026 while mandated the Ceremonial Committee to organize a befitting three-day programme to commemorate the School’s golden jubilee.
On the resolution for the School Hostel Project, the Convention concluded that the hostel project should continue in phases which subject to the availability of funds, revealing that the Association presently does not have the sum of sixteen million naira required for full completion.
The resolution further revealed that the Association meetings shall henceforth hold in third Saturday of March and July, stationing the Annual Convention to November, in accordance with the Association’s Constitution.
A mandated meeting was fixed for March and July with the attendants of the BOT members, National Executives and five delegates from each registered set, which must include the SRA members.
He also appreciated the association for its good and laudable interest shown towards the academics of the students’ characters and behavioral changing through counselling, and career talks to the students and payment of 20 students’ WAEC registration.
Speaking on the School achievement, Mr Adeoye said higher education potential of the school has increased to over 70% in the last WAEC and NECO Examination, revealing that a student came second in the Lisabi Quiz Competition which earned her a scholarship ticket to the University Level.
The Principal seeked tailoring workshop as a common and share facility between the Junior and the Senior School over the newly curriculum introduced by Federal Government in order to promote entrepreneur economy through education.
The Association Pioneer President, OS Joseph Uchea who in a message, lend his voice to a call for individuals and Sets to redeem the pledges made towards the development fund, adding that the association needs a lot of money so that the executive can achieve the lofty ideas agreed on.
He hailed the President, OS Gbenga Fashina and his team for the courage and tenacity to have pulled off such an innovation as the first-ever Convention, saying this showed that where there is a will, there will always be a way.
According to him, “The planning and execution were truly commendable and reflect our collective commitment to the growth of the association.
“As the Vice President 1 of AGSOSA National, I am proud of the unity and renewed enthusiasm this historic event has inspired among members.
In his appreciation messages, the President, OS Gbenga Fashina hailed all members who were present and their meaningful contributions toward the convention. He said, “The success of this convention has butressed our resolve to unite together to build a virile Association.
“Special appreciation to the BOT Chairman, the Pioneer President and Guest lecturer, the Chairpersons of sets, members of BOT and other members in attendance. Thank you for the trust, support and understanding. By the grace of God, next year event will surpass this one”, the President concluded.
