Atiku extends condolences as veteran film star, Francis Duru loses son

The former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has extended his condolences to the veteran actor, Francis Duru who lost his son, Ifeanyi recently.

According to report, the Nollywood Actor and film producer who went to his social media platform to announce that he lost his 15-year-old son.


He wrote: ‘My champ!!my lion..you fought like a lion…if this is the way He wants it, so be it, l still judge you faithful…. Ifeanyi my champ….l will miss you son. will forever love you….Rest in peace son…rest….I give you thanks Lord!’

The cause of young Ifeanyi’s death was not revealed neither were the circumstances beyond what the father disclosed.
In his reaction, the ex-Vice President on X wrote: “I extend my heartfelt thoughts and fervent prayers to Francis Duru and his cherished family as they traverse the sombre path of grief following the departure of his beloved son, Ifeanyi.

“The profound sorrow that accompanies the loss of a child delves to the very core of the soul, for it defies the ordained sequence where children bid farewell to their parents.
“May the Almighty envelop you and your loved ones, offering solace and strength in this trying hour. Permit me, on behalf of my kin, to convey my sincerest sympathies and unwavering support to you all”, Atiku said.

It was reported that Francis Duru, is a respected and beloved figure in Nollywood, known for his contributions to the industry through his numerous roles in films and television, beyond his professional success.

It added that despite being in the industry for over two decades, Francis Duru remained scandal free and reputed of having one of the most successful and enduring marriages in an industry where marriages crash at the speed of light and the dirty linings subsequently washed in the public.
