Biden weaponized justice, Speaker says over Trump trial verdict

The 56th United States Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mike Johnson has accused the President, Joe Biden of weaponizing the country’s justice system to crush political opponent over ex-President, Donald Trump’s trial verdict.

Johnson who made the accusation in a statement released on Thursday while reacting to the Court verdict melted on the former President, Trump, said this was purely political exercise, not a legal one.

According to the statement: Today is a shameful day in American history. Democrats cheered as they convicted the leader of the opposing party on ridiculous charges, predicated on the testimony of a disbarred, convicted felon. This was a purely political exercise, not a legal one.

“The weaponization of our justice system has been a hallmark of the Biden Administration, and the decision today is further evidence that Democrats will stop at nothing to silence dissent and crush their political opponents.

“The American people see this as lawfare, and they know it is wrong—and dangerous. President Trump will rightfully appeal this absurd verdict—and he WILL WIN”, the Speaker said.

It was reported that the former President Donald Trump was found guilty on all 34 felony counts related to a 2016 hush money payment to adult film actress Stormy Daniels.

It marks the first time in history that a former U.S. president has been convicted on criminal charges. Trump last April pleaded not guilty to a 34-count indictment charging him with falsifying business records.
This is in connection with a hush money payment trump’s then-attorney Michael Cohen made to Daniels in order to boost his electoral prospects in the 2016 presidential election. His sentencing is set for July 11, four days before the Republican National Convention is set to begin in Milwaukee.

“This was a rigged trial by a conflicted judge who was corrupt. It’s a rigged trial, a disgrace,” the former President, Trump said of Judge Juan Merchan, who presided over the trial.

“The real verdict is going to be Nov. 5th by the people. And they know what happened here, and everybody knows what happened here,” Trump said.

“We didn’t do a thing wrong. I’m a very innocent man, and it’s OK; I’m fighting for our country, I’m fighting for our Constitution. Our whole country is being rigged right now”, the former President added.
