Cleric urges devotion, gratitude in Arafah Day Sermon

The Imam and Khateeb of Al-Masjid Al-Haram, Dr. Salih bin Abdullah bin Humaid, has called on Muslims to uphold piety, obedience, and sincere devotion to Allah as pilgrims gathered on the plains of Arafah for the 2025 Hajj.

Delivering the annual Day of Arafah sermon on Wednesday, June 5, Dr. Humaid urged pilgrims to increase remembrance, gratitude, and heartfelt supplications. He described the day as a noble one, where Allah frees countless souls from Hellfire and draws His servants near.

The cleric praised Saudi Arabia’s leadership for ensuring a safe and peaceful Hajj through its care for the Two Holy Mosques and Holy Sites.

  • He emphasized that following regulations is both a religious and moral responsibility, aligning with Islamic law’s objectives. Dr. Humaid reminded pilgrims that Hajj is a reflection of the Day of Judgment, nurturing reverence and submission to Allah.
