Goronyo Takes Charge of North-West 2027 Mobilisation

The road to the 2027 presidential election has gained fresh momentum in the North -West as Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, accepted leadership of a new support organisation dedicated to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election.

The organisation, Bello Muhammad Goronyo (BMG) Associates for Asiwaju/Shettima 2027, was presented to the minister on Wednesday by stakeholders from the seven North-West states led by Dr. Haris H. M. Jibril.

The group asked Goronyo to serve as its National Convener and Leader, citing his experience in political mobilisation, grassroots engagement and leadership development. It also sought permission to use his initials, “BMG,” as the organisation’s acronym.

The stakeholders described Goronyo as a leader associated with integrity, loyalty, mentorship and purposeful political organisation.

They referenced his role as Director of Youth Mobilisation for the North-West during the 2023 Presidential Campaign Council, as well as his previous service as Zonal Secretary of the North-West All Progressives Congress.

According to the delegation, the new platform will coordinate political engagement across the region, communicate the achievements of the Tinubu administration and promote the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Its structure will include state coordinators and officials responsible for youth mobilisation, women mobilisation, communications and organisation across the region’s senatorial districts.

Accepting the responsibility, Goronyo thanked the stakeholders for their confidence and commended their commitment to Nigeria’s unity and development.

He urged members to ensure that mobilisation remained disciplined, factual and centred on listening to citizens.

“Effective political mobilisation requires listening to the people, understanding their concerns and communicating government policies in a manner that promotes trust, unity and confidence in democratic institutions,” he said.

The minister highlighted the administration’s investments in roads, railways and other transport infrastructure, including the Lagos- Calabar Coastal Highway, the Sokoto- Badagry Superhighway, the Akwanga- Jos-Bauchi-Gombe Corridor and the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano Road.

He said such projects would improve connectivity, support trade, reduce travel time and create new economic opportunities for Nigerians.

Following his acceptance, Goronyo formally inaugurated the organisation and charged its members to build an inclusive grassroots network across the North-West.

He called for unity, accountability, loyalty to the party’s leadership and respect for differing views within the democratic space.

“As the Secretary of the Support Groups of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the Presidential Campaign Council, we will continue to work with you, mobilise Nigerians and engage our people constructively towards ensuring the successful return of our dear President, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in 2027, Insha Allah,” he said.

With the inauguration, the group begins its regional mobilisation effort in support of the Tinubu-Shettima ticket, promising a campaign built on organisation, engagement and renewed grassroots outreach.
