The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila has promised to give his best when taking of office on June 14 2023 as the Chief Of Staff (COS) of the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Gbajabiamila took to his social media platform to express his gratitude to the President who announced his appointment in a meeting with Progressives Governors Forum (PGF) on Friday.
Recalled that the Leadership newspaper reported that the President Tinubu introduced Gbajabiamila as his Chief of Staff during a meeting with Service Chiefs at Presidential Villa on Thursday, but was not officially announced.
According to the statement released by the Director of Information, Abiodun Oladunjoye in Abuja on Friday, stated that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu announced his Gbajabiamila’s appointment along others.
He made the Speaker of House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila his Chief of Staff, and Sen. Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia, a former Deputy Governor of Jigawa State, as the Deputy Chief of Staff.
Showing his appreciation, the Speaker said, “Thank you Mr President for finding me worthy of being your Chief of Staff. Having spent the last 20 years in the Nigerian Parliament.
“And after winning my 6th term election into the National Assembly, I shall work with Mr President in discharging the enormous task ahead of him for the peace and progress of the federal republic of Nigeria.
“I shall give my best when I take office on June 14 2023 as reflected in Mr. President’s official letter”, the Speaker of the House of Reps, Femi Gbajabiamila promised.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu also named former Governor of Benue State and immediate past Minister of Special Duties, George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).
