The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has held its annual Christmas Carol/End of The Year Thanksgiving service to appreciate God for His blessings in the outgoing year.
According to the statement released on Wednesday, the event which took place at the Authority’s headquarters, Ijora Olopa, was attended by LAWMA’s management and staff, as well as friends and well-wishers.
In his welcome address, the Managing Director/CEO of LAWMA, Dr. Muyiwa Gbadegesin, who was represented by the Executive Director, Finance, Kunle Adebiyi, expressed his delight to witness another end of the year, thanking God for preserving the management and staff of the Authority, in spite some of the challenges encountered in the outgoing year.
He said that the annual Christmas Carol and End of the Year Thanksgiving had become a tradition in LAWMA, a time earmarked by the Authority to gather together and appreciate God.
While giving his sermon which took from the book of Genesis 8:22, the Pastor, Adedayo Adepetun, spoke on “Sowing and Reaping”, urging the attendees to prepare for harvest time by sowing the right seeds, adding that everyone was bound to reap what they sowed.
He rounded off by praying for God’s blessing on workers of the agency and other people in attendance.
The first Bible reading of the day, taken from the book of Isaiah 9: 6 – 7, was done by the Executive Director, Finance of LAWMA, Mr. Kunle Adebiyi; while the second Bible reading was taken by Mr. Adewunmi Adetona, Head of Advocacy.
High point of the event was the rendition of hymns and special songs by LAWMA’s Emmanuel Chapel Choir, as well as a special choreographic ministration by the chapel’s children.
