In promoting materials, components and technologies that will enhance quality and sustainability of buildings in Nigeria, the 35th ArchiBuilt Expo is set to hold at the Rainbow Events Center in the city of Abuja on 10th to 13th of September, 2024.
Archibuilt exposition is an annual exhibition-forum organized by the Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA), spanned for 35years while bringing to the fore trends, technologies, systems, and policy issues that impact building industry’s intervention and responses to everyday living.
The Chairman of Archibuilt Development Services Limited (ADSL), Arc Usman Umaru Karaye who made the disclosure at a Press Conference in Abuja on Monday repeatedly said, “ArchiBuilt is a 35-year-old exhibition event”.
Adding that, “It is an event where professionals in the construction industry, the members of the public, manufacturers, vendors, and so on, come together to share ideas, see building products, services, and construction technologies so as to update themselves on what is happening in the construction industry.
“Now, when it comes to the members of the public just coming to visit the exhibition, there are range of products that exhibitors will explain to the prospective developers and visitors, especially when it comes to the technical information on those particular products and services.
On the theme for this year’s exposition: “Innovations in Sustainable Construction”, Arc Umaru Karaye said this is a concrete mixture bringing individuals, organizations, to leverage on technology in the building industry and to feature a dynamic array of exhibitors.
Which he said includes young architects presenting innovative products and local institutions unveiling new materials. “The goal is to foster local talent and attract investors interested in advancing commercial applications of these innovations”.
Arc Zingak Gomwalk, one of the committee members in his words said, “This year’s highly anticipated Archibuilt 2024 will take place from Sept10th to 12th at the expansive Rainbow Events Center, marking a significant shift from its traditional location at the International Conference Center”.
He added that the venue change comes as latter undergoes renovation, but promised to enhance the experience with its larger space and modern facilities. “With a focus on smart building technologies, Archibuilt 2024 aims to highlight cutting-edge products and solutions that cater to the increasing demand for smart infrastructure.
“You’re all invited. People in the built environment, professionals, exhibitors, people with products, especially people with innovative new products, because we intend to have innovative new products for smart buildings. Everybody is going smart these days.
“Most of the products coming there will be innovative new products to introduce you to smart buildings. It’s something that we encourage the general public to take their time out and come between the 10th and 12th of September this month. That’s next week”, Arc Gomwalk said.
Arc Oyeleke David outlined that the sessions of training to cover advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence applications in the built environment, adding that it will emphasize the importance of entrepreneurship in the sector.
He pointed out that the training is targeted at students and the govt employees to enhance their skills and marketability, saying, “This year’s event is not just about showcasing products but about equipping professionals with knowledge and tools needed to excel in the rapidly evolving architecture and construction fields”.
Arc Oyeleke further said, “the event will also feature on building collapse prevention and most critical issues in Nigeria. Discussions will include technical short- comings and regulatory gaps contributing to structural failures, with a view towards developing actionable solutions and policy recommendations.”
Archibuilt head of operation, Akinfenwa Mobolaji thanked some of the Sponsors like OTIS, JMG, and PROMA for their support while highlighting their commitment to advancing building materials and technologies.
