No impunity for misconduct, NYSC DG warns Corps members

National Youth Service Corps Director-General has sounded a clear warning that there is no immunity for any Corps Member that violates the scheme Bye-Law and other laws of Nigeria.

General Ahmed made the warning while addressing the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream One Corps Members at NYSC Kwara State Orientation Camp in Yikpata, Edu Local Government Area of the State.
The DG who admonished Corps Members to avoid every act of criminality during service year, cautioned that the Scheme is not an abode for criminal elements, but individuals of good morals that are ready to contribute their quota to the development of their host communities.

He said, “Don’t consume hard drugs, avoid fraud, hooliganisn and other forms of misconduct that can lead you to trouble.

“Don’t violate the Scheme’s Bye-Law. Avoid night travelling and respect the constituted authorities because offenders would be sanctioned”, he added.
According to the statement released by the Scheme, General Ahmed also advised the Corps Members to adhere strictly to NYSC dress code.

While presenting the Camp situation report to the DG, NYSC Kwara State Coordinator, Mr Joshua Onifade said a total of 1,319 Corps Members comprising 593 males and 726 females were registered.

He stated further that the Corps Members have exhibited high level of discipline and have comported themselves in an orderly manner in all their assigned duties since they arrived camp.
