NYSC hails Corps’ conduct in Kogi, Imo, Bayelsa Guber elections

National Youth Service Corps, has commended the Corps Members that served as ad-hoc staff during governorship elections in Kogi, Imo and Bayelsa States for their strict compliance with the electoral laws.

The Director General, Brigadier General YD Ahmed hailed the Corps for their selfless services and patriotic spirit in contributing to the development of democractic government in the country.

General Ahmed disclosed this while monitoring the Corps Members on election duties in some local governments areas within Kogi State as contained in a statement released by the scheme on Sunday.

He stated further that the security and welfare of Corps Members remain topmost priority of his administration.

While at Lokoja Local Government Secretariat, Crowther Memorial College, Lokoja and other polling centres where he made on-the-spot assessment of election, the Corps Members applauded the Scheme for giving them the opportunity to contribute their quota to national development.

Reports from NYSC officials in Imo and Bayelsa States on the performances of Corps Members on election duties also revealed their total compliance with the laid down rules and regulations.

The Director General however appealed to security agencies to ensure that all Corps Members that participated in the election are escorted to their different RAC centers in good time.
