The Association of Corporate Online Editors (ACOE), during its emergency meeting, on Thursday in Abuja, has admitted and welcomed eight independent online editors.
These are candidates who indicated interest and purchased nomination forms when the association opened its window to accommodate more members who are qualified to join, based on its constitution.
Announcing the candidates, the chairman of the screening committee, Chux Ugwuatu testified these candidates have fulfilled constitutional requirements of the association and are qualified for be received as full members.
Those received according to the statement released by the association, as follows: Ameh Gabriel of Media 360 Impact, Odimmegwa Johnpeter of New Africa Horizon, Segun Ojumu of African Eye, Sunday Etuka of The Fact News.
Welcoming the new members, the President of ACOE, Comrade Sola Akingboye charged them to be mindful of what to do for the association and not just what the association would do for them.
The President who during meeting disclosed that he has worked with some of these new members for many years, attested that they are people of integrity while assured them that they will have no cost to regret being members.
The members equally expressed appreciation to the Screening Committee for job well-done in ensuring that only people with impeccable character are allowed to join the association in order to maintain the good standard ACOE stands for.
ACOE is an umbrella body for all independent online editors operating in Nigeria with his headquarters in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
