Cross River State Governor, Sen. Bassey Otu, represented by his Deputy, Peter Odey has hailed Chairman Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa’s doggedness, dedication to Diaspora Matters, has earned Nigeria international respect.
Odey gave the commendation when the Dabiri-Erewa, led the Chairman Senate Committee on Diaspora, Civil Societies and NGOs, Chairman, House of Reps Committee on Diaspora Affairs, Hon. Tochukwu Okere.
NiDCOM delegation, as well as some State Diaspora Focal Point Officers of FCT, Akwa Ibom, Enugu, Kogi and that of the hosting state, on a courtesy call ahead of the fourth State Diaspora Focal Point Officers Summit being hosted in Calabar, the Cross River State Capital.
He stated that they have been following her work and how she has been helping Nigerians across the globe.
Odey expressed gratitude to NiDCOM boss for choosing Cross River State for the State Diaspora Focal Point Officers Summit.
Odey applauded the relentless efforts of the state Chairman of the Diaspora Commission, Prince Otu Okor in making the summit a reality within the shortest time.
The Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, thanked the Deputy Governor for receiving NiDCOM delegation, Senate and House Committees on Diaspora and State Diaspora Focal Point Officers.
She thanked the Governor for the support in hosting the Summit within a short time.
She equally commended the Chairman, Senate Committee on Diaspora Civil Societies and NGOs as well as the Chairman House Committee on Diaspora Affairs for their invaluable support they have accorded Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM).
Also, Sen Anthony Siyako Yaro, Deputy Chairman, Senate Committee on Diaspora, NGOs and Civil Societies,
noted that Diaspora is a catalyst and a strong pillar of image making for Nigeria, investment and financial strength for Nigeria.
He emphasized that diasporas are solutions at the right time to Nigeria and this is evident in the financial strength in the Nation’s reserves from $20 billion dollars to about $40billion dollars respectively.
The Chairman, Cross River State Diaspora Commission, Prince Otu Okor also received a pad on the back by the Governor, ably represented by the Deputy Governor for his relentless efforts and also learning from the best, Hon. Dr. Abike Dabiri-Erewa.
The NiDCOM Boss also commended CRIDCOM Chairman for hitting the ground running and also having the ‘perfect structure ’ in place within the space of four months.
