Political Tourism Conference unveiled ahead of 2027 election

Ahead of 2027 general election, a new tourism product was unveiled at the 2025 Destination Nigeria Governors Tourism Conference held recently at Nicon Luxury Hotel in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.

Political Tourism Conference, an initiative to promote political will and enhance beauty of tourism development in the same vein was unveiled by one of the top politician in the country, Dr Adewale Adeogun and other dignitaries.

Dr Abiodun Adigun, a seasoned politician while embracing the initiative said, “now that the 2027 general election is coming, the Political Tourism Conference will serve as a platform to engaging political leaders across Nigeria on importance of economic growth of tourism”.

He added that as governments play a significant role in shaping tourism, this initiative through promotion, regulation, and policy can act as a catalyst for socio-political change in this region.
Ambassador Ayo Omotoso who is the initiator said during the unveiling that the idea of this, is to promote transformative tourism through political elites, adding that every political gathering is tourism -related for economic purposes.

According to him, “As thousands of people gathered during the political adventure, it is interesting to know that these gatherings of such support hotels, transport services, and high patronage of the restaurants.
He added, “The economic impact of political tourism adventures is huge. It is against this backdrop that we create the Political Tourism Conference to promote transformative tourism at all levels to explore tourism vision for leadership purposes”.
