A member of the ROCOF political forum, Olumide Akinola, popularly known as Olumba, has formally resigned his membership and all responsibilities within the organisation with immediate effect.
A resignation letter dated June 30, 2026, and addressed to the leadership and members of the forum indicated that the decision followed careful consideration and a desire to concentrate on personal commitments and other priorities.
In the letter, Akinola expressed gratitude to the organisation for the opportunity to serve, noting that his time in the forum provided him with valuable experiences, relationships and lessons.
“I sincerely appreciate the opportunity to have been part of the forum and the experiences, relationships and lessons I gained during my time with the organisation. I remain grateful for the support and cooperation extended to me by the leadership and members,” he stated.
The former member added that his resignation should not be interpreted as a lack of goodwill towards the forum, stressing that he remains appreciative of the cooperation he enjoyed while serving in the group.
He further wished the organisation continued unity, progress and success in its future endeavours.
“After careful consideration, I have decided to step away from the forum to focus on other personal commitments and priorities. I wish the organisation continued unity, progress and success in all its endeavours,” Akinola wrote.
He concluded by expressing heartfelt appreciation to the leadership and members for the opportunity to contribute to the forum, while extending his best wishes to the organisation and its members going forward.
The development is expected to generate discussions within the political circle, particularly among stakeholders and members of ROCOF, as the forum continues its activities ahead of future engagements.
