The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that between December 29th and now, Russia has used about 300 missiles and over 200 “Shahed” drones against Ukraine.
Zelensky made this known on his social media platform on Tuesday after the latest attack with almost a hundred missiles of various types, adding that at least 70 missiles were shot down.
He said, “Over 120 people were injured in today’s attack by Russian terrorists, and five people have been reported killed as of now. My condolences go out to everyone who has lost a loved one”.
According to him, “Nearly 60 of them were intercepted in the Kyiv area. There were also severe strikes on Kharkiv. Work is now being done to eliminate the consequences.
“Prior to Ukraine, no country in the world had ever successfully repulsed such combined attacks with the use of drones and missiles, including air-launched ballistic missiles. Only today, 10 Kinzhals were shot down.
The President expressed gratitude to every warrior in the Air Forces, all fighters in mobile air defense groups, every anti-aircraft gunner, and everyone throughout the world who is assisting Ukraine by providing weapons to defend its skies.
“Each additional air defense system and missile saves more lives. It is here, in Ukraine, and with our air defense, that we must demonstrate that democracies are capable of protecting lives from all types of terror”, he said.
Zelensky noted that Russian missiles was aimed to kill every living thing, but Ukraine’s defence team are attempting to save as many lives as possible.
“We are saving every person and every living soul. These are the values we fight for every day. When Russian invaders want one’s land, all people and animals—every living creature—need protection”.
On Thursday December 29, 2023, Russian force launched almost 160 missiles and drones overnight which was reportedly killed 30 people and over 150 people were injured in Ukrainian cities.
Media Bypass News report that Russian targets destroyed or damaged more than 100 private houses, 45 multi-story residential buildings, schools, two churches, hospitals, a maternity ward, and many commercial and storage facilities.
