Residents and businesses in Gwagwalada, Watson Door and adjoining areas should prepare for a two-hour power outage on Monday, October 5, 2026.
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) said the interruption will take place between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon during urgent maintenance at its Gwagwalada 132/33kV Transmission Substation.
According to TCN, its maintenance crew will connect an earthing reactor to a 60MVA 132/33kV power transformer.
The exercise will temporarily prevent the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) from supplying electricity to customers in the affected areas.
TCN apologized to electricity consumers for the inconvenience caused by the maintenance work.
