Team Yellow wins as Divine Tower School Abuja Sports Competition thrilling

The 3rd Inter-House Sports Competition of Divine Tower and Tiffany International Schools, Gwako, Abuja, was a thrilling event that showcased the talents and teamwork of students.

The event held on Wednesday at the Gwako open field featured various sports activities, which includes Cheerleading, Chorography, colourful matching, track and field, aimed to foster healthy rivalry, camaraderie, and sportsmanship among the participating houses.

Divine Tower and Tiffany International Schools, located in Gwako area of Gwagwalada, Abuja, known for its strong academic programs and moral values, emphasized the importance of sports in promoting discipline, teamwork, and leadership among students.

The Yellow House who graciously won the competition, taking over from the previous winner Red House with overall scores of 70, followed by Green House with 64, Red House 58 and Blue House with 54 points, also, outstanding performances were rewarded.

In his speech as the special guest of the event, the Organizing Secretary of the Nation Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS), FCT, Comrade Lawrence Omonade thrilled with the performances of the students.

He praised the Director, Ameh Benjamin Emmanuel and the management of the school for putting up a remarkable event while urged parents and guardians to support the school by paying their children school fees on time.

Omonade doubles as the Director, Wonder Toddlers Global Academy begged parents to support school owners saying it’s not easy to own a school, also appealed to them not to talk down school in front of the children.

Outstanding performance was rewarded

He said parents talking down the school in front of their children might make the kids to lose it because of the familiarity and also make the children to lose their confidence which he added might expose them to the uncertainty of the society.

According to him, “Don’t talk the school down in front of your children. If your children are having issues, don’t hesitate to see the administration of the school to iron it out instead of calling the schools unacceptable names which might be harmful to your children”.

Earlier, giving his welcome address, Divine Tower and Tiffany International Schools Director commended students for their dedication and the teachers for their guidance.
He said, “Today, we celebrate teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy competition. Our students will showcase their talents, skills, and house spirit. This event embodies our school’s values: excellence, unity, and resilience”.

The Yellow House Team leader, Abbas Yakubu in his votes of thanks appreciated the Principal, the teachers, sports masters/mistresses, officials, and every single person who made the 3rd Edition Inter-House Sports 2026 a huge success.

Cheering other fellow houses Red, Blue, Green, the Head of staff and exam master said their energy, sportsmanship, and fierce competition pushed them to give their absolute best. “You made every race, every jump, every goal unforgettable. Respect”.

“To the Yellow House family and every athlete who trained under the sun and rain, cheerleaders whose voice never broke, supporters who believed even when points were tight, captain, vice- captain, and house prefect who led with fire this victory is YOURS! We did it together”, he concluded.
