Tinubu order Shettima to London to accompany Buhari’s body back to Nigeria

Nigerian President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered the Vice President, Senator Kasim Shettima to accompany the body of the former President, Muhammad Buhari from United Kingdom back home.
In a statement released by the Presidency on Sunday after announcing the passing of the former President in London clinic on Sunday.

Former President Buhari died on Sunday in London at about 4.30 pm, following a prolonged illness as the President Tinubu announced the passing of his predecessor.
The President also ordered flags at half-staff as a mark of respect for the departed leader.

Speaking with the deceased wife, Mrs Aishat Buhari, Nigerian leader offered his deepest condolences to the former President’s widow.


Former President Buhari was twice elected Nigeria’s President in 2015 and 2023. He also served as military head of state between January 1984 and August 1985.

Media Bypass News has earlier breaks the news on Social media as released by the former President’s aide Shehu Garba, revealing that the family of the former president has announced the passing on of the former president, Muhammadu Buhari, this afternoon in a clinic in London.
