Nigerian President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has shared in the pain of loss with family, friends and congregants of Fountain of Life Church TFOLC, over the passing of Senior Pastor, Taiwo Odukoya.
In a statement released by his aide on Tuesday, the President sent his heartfelt condolences to Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN).
And associates of the highly revered religious leader, whose teaching, outreach and good work expanded the frontiers of charitable endeavour with particular respect to the education and health sectors.
Tinubu noted the worthy contributions of Pastor Odukoya to the development of the country, supporting the weak and vulnerable while providing a platform for many to realize their dreams through the teaching of the word of faith.
The President highlighted the importance of the active sustenance of the outstanding legacies of the renowned clergyman by all who knew him, trusting that the Almighty God will continue to comfort the family.
Also the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on his social media platforms, expressed with utter shock and sadness to receive the news of the passing of Pastor Daniel Taiwo Odukoya.
He said Pastor Odukoya was a dear brother and friend and was a dedicated man of God whose faith and belief in God never shook nor waned despite experiencing the obstacles of life.
Sanwo-Olu stated further that the Pastor was steadfast in worship and diligent in service, also was a great preacher and teacher, whose life and ministry has continued to impact the lives of people within the Christian body and outside.
According to him, “Pastor Odukoya’s demise is indeed a heart wrenching reminder that this life is indeed fleeting. My sincere condolences to his dear children, Tolu Ijogun, Jimmy Odukoya, Tobi Enuha, Jomiloju and Timilehin Odukoya and the entire Odukoya family”.
The Governor also commiserated with Pastor Odukoya’s friends, associates, the congregation of The Fountain of Life Church, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) and the entire Christian body.
Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar reacting to the death of this great man of God on Twitter, said, “Heartfelt condolences to the family, congregation, and community of Pastor Taiwo Odukoya of Fountain of Life Church. He was a beacon of faith and hope. May his soul rest in eternal peace”.
Pastor Odukoya’s death was announced by his church on Tuesday, stating that he died on Monday in America, aged 67.
He was the husband of the late Pastor Bimbo Odukoya who died from injuries sustained from the 2005 Sosoliso plane crash and his second wife, Nomthi Odukoya, died in 2021, after a two-year battle with cancer.
