Senator Engr. David Umahi, the Minister of Works, has emerged as a key force in the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
This follows his appointment as Deputy Director-General for Infrastructure, Mobilisation and Sensitization of the party’s Presidential Campaign Council.
The appointment, approved by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, places the Minister of Works at the centre of the APC’s national campaign strategy.
In his new role, Umahi will help showcase the infrastructure achievements of the Renewed Hope Administration, strengthen grassroots mobilisation and lead efforts to sensitise Nigerians across the country.
With experience as a Deputy Governor, Governor, Senator and serving Minister, Umahi brings a broad political network and a strong record in infrastructure development to the campaign council.
His leadership is expected to help the APC connect its policy achievements with voters at the grassroots and communicate its message more effectively nationwide.
The campaign council will be led by Senator Abdulaziz Yari, former Governor of Zamfara State and serving Senator for Zamfara West, who has been appointed Director-General.
The council brings together former governors, serving senators, ministers, party leaders and grassroots mobilisers.
Its composition reflects the APC’s ambition to build a formidable national structure capable of coordinating its campaign and taking the Renewed Hope Administration’s message to every part of the federation.
Umahi’s appointment signals the strategic importance the party places on infrastructure advocacy, grassroots engagement and nationwide political coordination as it prepares for the 2027 contest.
