Why Women should actively participate in Politics – Dabiri-Erewa

Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), has issued a compelling call for women to actively engage in politics, emphasizing its crucial role in shaping national discourse.

This admonition was delivered during her keynote address at the International Women’s Day celebrations, organized by Zenith Bank of Nigeria at the Civic Center in Lagos recently.

Speaking on the theme, “TAKE IT, YOU OWN IT,” Dabiri-Erewa urged women to foster mutual support, highlighting that such solidarity is fundamental to collectively building the nation.

Her address underscored the transformative power of women’s involvement in governance and societal development.
According to a statement released by NiDCOM, Dabiri-Erewa commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his inclusive leadership, particularly acknowledging the elective and appointive positions accorded to women within his administration.

She also extended praise to Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady, for her impactful initiatives dedicated to the welfare of women and children.
In her remarks at the event, Dame Adaora Umeoji, the GMD of Zenith Bank, echoed these sentiments, encouraging women to embody courage, dedication, and vision in all their endeavors.

The Zenith Bank International Women’s Day Seminar, an annual event, serves as a vital platform designed to inspire and empower women both within and outside Nigeria.

It facilitates leadership development, professional growth, and meaningful dialogue on critical issues affecting women, ultimately promoting women’s empowerment, social impact, and inclusive economic participation.
