A member of the Oyo State Advisory Council, Barrister Michael Lana, on Thursday, announced his support for Governor Seyi Makinde as a presidential candidate ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Lana while speaking with stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ona Ara local government area where he visited to transfer his voter card, said what Ibadan or Oyo State has never achieved is on the way as there is greatest opportunity for them to produce the next president.

He said the decision to support Makinde to be President in 2027 is based on his dedication to good governance and enhancing the lives of the people, noting that his achievements as governor of Oyo State speak volume about the kind of a leader he is.
According to him, Governor Makinde is in a tall position if Nigerians support him to become the President, stating that he embodies the type of leadership Nigeria requires at this time.

He then called on all patriotic lovers of democracy regardless of political affiliation to rally behind Governor Makinde to become President in 2027, maintaining that he has the capacity to move the country forward as he is a focused administrator committed to improving lives.
He said, “Makinde remains the best product in 2027 presidential election. We must all work towards actualising this project. It is important that we should all start collaborating and mobilising all behind the governor for him to become the President in 2027 in order to liberate the masses.

“The bravery and leadership qualities he exhibited placed him as a better candidate for the presidency in 2027. Indeed, his giant strides in developing Oyo State and his contributions to the progress of Nigeria are unequal.”
