Dignitaries have congratulated the Nigerian President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Son, Barrister Seyi for the installation of new traditional chiefs by the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Owoade on Sunday.
The President’s Son, Barrister Seyi Tinubu was installed as the ‘Okanlomo of Yorubaland’, a title which translates to “the beloved child of Yorubaland”.
The event which was being attended by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio and retinue of Senators, including Senate Leader, Opeyemi Bamidele; Lagos East Senator, Mikhail Tokunbo; and host of others.
Also, present at the occasion was the Speaker of Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin; former governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, and many others expected at the epoch-making event.
In a congratulatory message, the Special Assistant to the President on Social Media, Dada Olusegun said, “This honour is neither accidental nor ornamental. It is the natural outcome of years defined by consistency, quiet sacrifice, tangible impact, and unchanging commitment to people especially the youth.
He added that Seyi Tinubu never been one for hollow speeches or performative gestures, saying he doesnt merely speak about empowerment; he lives it, opens doors, creates pathways, and shows up when it truly matters.
Dada stated further that Seyi’s belief in young people is not seasonal, and his support is not conditional, revealing that across communities and causes, Seyi’s philanthropy has spoken in results, not noise. “No theatrics, no clout-chasing, just deliberate action, genuine support, and lives permanently changed.
“Many of today’s success stories trace their turning point to moments when he believed, stood firm, and invested long before it was fashionable or convenient. Beyond public glare, Seyi is a true compadre, a loyal friend.
“A leader who carries authority with empathy, and a boss who understands that leadership is service. His rise has never been a solo journey; it has been inclusive, intentional, and generous, always creating room for others to grow, thrive, and lead.
He continues, “And yes, he is fondly called the King of Boys not by force of privilege or proximity to power, but by the currency of loyalty, consistency, and brotherhood.
“The kind that does not waver with status. The kind that remembers names, faces, and shared struggles. The kind that lifts others without rewriting history or forgetting the road that led here.
“The title Ọkànlómọ̀ embodies courage, strength, and responsibility, virtues deeply rooted in character. In bestowing this honour, Yorùbáland has not merely crowned a title; it has affirmed a life of purpose, service, and influence that continues to shape a generation”, he concluded.
Oyo State Speaker, Hon Adebo Ogundoyin who said he was deeply honored and excited to witness Barrister Seyi receive the revered titlement, added that the President’s Son unwavering commitment to youth development, innovation, and national unity continues to inspire many across Nigeria.
According to him, “This chieftaincy title is not just a recognition of his noble lineage as the son of the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, but also testament to personal impact and promise as a bridge between generations.
“Congratulations, Òkanlòmọ of Yorubaland! May your new role deepen your service to our people and strengthen the bonds of Yorubaland”, Hon Ogundoyin prayed.
Former Presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad on X congratulated the President’s Son, adding that the well deserved honour reflects Seyi’s legacy of service, strong character and a deep commitment to the values and progress of the people.
Also former Presidential aide, Reno Omokri on behalf of his family, felicitated with Seyi Tinubu on this well-deserved chieftaincy title, while urged Nigerian youths to emulate Tinubu’s commitment to the Nigerian nation.
Referring to what Okanlomo means as a unique child, the former Presidential aide said this reflects Seyi’s achievements from his strides in business, to charitable and philanthropic outreaches across the nation.
Which he added that unlike some others, have been ongoing for decades, and did not start during election cycles, to Seyi’s respect for elders, despite his noble birth and distinguished pedigree.
“You will agree with the Alaafin of Oyo, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Abimbola Owoade, that the younger Tinubu is a child of Providence and a bearer of fate”, Reno Omokri showered praises.
He prayed that there will be many more people like the President’s Son in the Nigeria of the future, saying by exuding assurance without arrogance, Seyi Tinubu continues to influence younger people to be more responsible, including and especially the children of those in high authority.
