In a strategic move to cultivate future leaders and bridge the divide between academic theory and real-world financial practice, the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) has successfully concluded Executive Industry Immersion Challenge (EIIC) program.

Partnering with the esteemed Nile Business School, Nile University of Nigeria, Abuja, the initiative underscores NDIC’s unwavering commitment to talent development and robust industry- academia collaboration.

The 4-day intensive program, held at the Corporation’s Head Office in Abuja, was inaugurated by Mr. Thompson Oludare Sunday, the Managing Director/Chief Executive of the NDIC.

He emphasized the critical importance of such initiatives in addressing widening gap between educational institutions and the dynamic business community.

Sunday highlighted that the rapidly evolving global work environment demands professionals equipped with both profound theoretical knowledge and practical insights into the corporate landscape.

“The Executive Industry Immersion Challenge has provided the NDIC with the opportunity of a practical platform to expose participants to real-world experience in policy formulation, institutional governance, and public sector management,” stated Sunday.
He further reiterated NDIC’s pivotal role as a financial safety-net institution, dedicated to fostering financial system stability, bolstering depositor confidence within the financial sector.

Addressing the participants, who are students of the executive NBA program, Sunday urged them to embrace the invaluable lessons learned during the program.

He encouraged them to adopt these positive values as guiding principles for effective leadership and national development.
While stressing that public confidence in institutions is earned through consistent honesty, sound ethical conduct, good governance, and transparency.

Ibrahim Aliyu, the Project Coordinator for the NDIC and Director of Research, Policy and International Relations Department, elaborated on the program’s design.

He explained that the EIIC was meticulously crafted as an experiential learning initiative, specifically aimed at seamlessly integrating theoretical knowledge with practical industry applications.
Representing the Dean of the Nile Business School, Prof. Hauwa Lamido, Dr. Festus Ekechi acknowledged NDIC’s exemplary corporate governance, professionalism, and integrity within Nigeria’s financial landscape as key factors in their selection for the immersion program.

Dr. Ekechi assured that the Nile Business School is committed to integrating the comprehensive learning points from this exercise into its curriculum, thereby ensuring that participants can practically apply their newfound knowledge in their respective professional environments.

This collaborative effort between NDIC and Nile University marks a significant step towards nurturing a new generation of financial professionals, well-prepared to navigate complexities of the modern financial world and contribute meaningfully to national progress.
