The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has begun tightening its mobilisation process, promising Nigerian graduates a more transparent, timely and technology -driven experience ahead of the 2026 Batch ‘C’ exercise.
Speaking at the opening of the 2026 Batch ‘C’ Pre-Mobilisation Workshop in Abuja, NYSC Director General, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, warned that inaccurate records, delayed responses and unauthorised changes to data could undermine the mobilisation of eligible graduates and damage public confidence in the scheme.
He called on universities, polytechnics and other stakeholders involved in the process to take full responsibility for their roles, follow approved procedures and strengthen their internal quality-control systems before submitting graduates’ records to the NYSC.
“Every inaccurate record, unauthorised alteration of data, delayed response or failure to meet established timelines can adversely affect the mobilisation of graduates and the credibility of the Scheme,” Nafiu said.
The workshop, themed “Strengthening Institutional Accountability, Data Integrity and Digital Innovation for Seamless NYSC Mobilisation,” focused on using technology to reduce manual intervention, eliminate bottlenecks and shorten processing times.
Nafiu also urged stakeholders to improve their digital skills and cybersecurity awareness, warning against negligence, manipulation of records and abuse of process.
He stressed that mobilisation was a shared responsibility, noting that a weakness in one institution could disrupt the entire system.
“No institution can achieve seamless mobilisation in isolation,” he said, urging stakeholders to improve information sharing, communicate openly and report anomalies promptly.
The Director of the Corps Mobilisation Department, Mrs Rachel Idaewor, similarly called for strict adherence to the approved mobilisation timetable as preparations for the orientation course gather momentum.
She urged institutions to verify graduates’ information more carefully, strengthen controls against errors and fraud, and adopt automation responsibly and in line with national regulations and global best practices.
For prospective Corps Members, the NYSC’s message is clear: cleaner data, stronger accountability and smarter technology should make the next mobilisation exercise faster, fairer and less vulnerable to avoidable mistakes.
