The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has unveiled a new Anti-Corruption Policy Document aimed at strengthening transparency, accountability and ethical conduct across the organisation.
The policy was launched on Tuesday, 22 September 2026, at TCN’s corporate headquarters in Maitama, Abuja, by the company’s Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU).
Speaking at the event, TCN’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Sule Ahmed Abdulaziz, represented by Executive Director of Human Resources and Corporate Services, Mrs. Abiodun Afolabi-Fadahunsi, described the document as a major step towards consolidating the company’s commitment to ethical standards and zero tolerance for corruption.
He said TCN’s credibility depended not only on its achievements but also on the manner in which those achievements were realised.
Abdulaziz urged staff to study the policy and apply its principles in their daily decisions and responsibilities.
He noted that the document was designed not merely to prevent corruption but also to promote honesty, fairness, professionalism, transparency and accountability throughout the company.
He commended the ACTU and other contributors for their roles in developing the policy, while calling on all employees to support its effective implementation.
Earlier, the Chairman of ACTU, Mrs. E. Benibo, said the unveiling represented more than the presentation of a policy document.
She described it as a collective commitment by TCN management and staff to building a stronger culture of integrity.
Benibo warned that corruption weakens institutions, erodes public trust and wastes vital resources. She stressed that tackling the problem required the active participation of every member of staff.
Providing an overview of the document, the ICPC representative and ACTU Desk Officer attached to TCN, Mrs. Monsurat Ajoke Ifeajika, said the policies would help shape staff conduct, guide institutional decision-making and strengthen internal systems.
She explained that the document provides practical guidance on preventing, detecting, reporting and responding to unethical and corrupt practices.
With the unveiling, TCN has signalled a renewed determination to embed integrity in its operations and make ethical conduct a shared responsibility across the company.
