The Christ Apostolic Church, Mouth of Salvation District Headquarters, Gwako, Gwagwalada, Abuja, held its 2026 Harvest Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, a with call for faith, resilience, sacrificial giving and practical support for communities facing economic hardship.

The service brought together Distrist leaders, Pastors, Church members for thanksgiving, reflection and prayers for the progress of the congregation and the nation at large.

In his address, the Church Minister-in- Charge, DS John Taiwo Noah, expressed gratitude to God for the church’s spiritual and physical growth over the past year.

DS Noah said the annual celebration was more than an occasion for merrymaking, describing it as an opportunity for worshippers to count their blessings and acknowledge what he called God’s continued sustenance.

He encouraged members to remain steadfast in their faith despite personal, economic and national challenges.

Speaking on Nigeria’s current difficulties, the cleric urged citizens to endure the difficult period with patience and resilience.

He reassured the congregation that “there is light at the end of the tunnel,” stressing that challenging seasons are temporary and encouraging Nigerians not to lose hope in the country’s future.

He also charged members to uphold love, unity and commitment to Christian principles, saying spiritual dedication and communal support were essential for navigating periods of national strain.

Church Highlights Community Support

The wife of the Minister-in-Charge, Pastor Mrs. Constant Olufunke Noah, explained that the harvest anniversary was designed not only to promote thanksgiving but also to mobilise resources to support church members and the wider community.

She acknowledged the pressure being experienced by many Nigerians as a result of the difficult economic climate, but urged worshippers to remain hopeful and proactive.

According to her, collective prayer, resilience and practical action were necessary as the country confronted its current challenges.

Pastor Mrs. Noah also highlighted the church’s community-development efforts, including the provision of borehole water.

She said the initiative was part of the ministry’s commitment to addressing basic needs and expressing the love of Christ through tangible humanitarian support.

She called on other religious and community leaders to combine spiritual development with practical interventions that improve the welfare of citizens.

Sermon Focuses on Sacrificial Giving

The sermon, titled “Sow in Tears, Reap in Joy,” was delivered by the newly elevated District Superintendent, Jame Sanuara, and was based on Psalm 126:5–6.

The superintendent urged believers to deepen their faith and trust God even when confronted with financial pressure and personal needs.

He said spiritual and financial breakthroughs often require people to move beyond their comfort zones and demonstrate sacrificial obedience.

Drawing from his personal experience, Sanuara recalled a period when he was a student minister struggling to pay his tuition and meet basic living expenses. He said he once gave his last available funds as an offering despite his financial difficulties.

According to his testimony, the act was followed by unexpected assistance that enabled him to settle his school fees, secure accommodation and continue his ministry journey.

Referencing the biblical account of the widow of Zarephath and the Prophet Elijah in 1 Kings 17, Sanuara said the value of a gift should not be judged solely by its monetary size.

DS Sanuara emphasised that the intention, faith and expectation behind an offering were also important while further described stewardship as an investment with consequences for future generations.

He cautioned that refusing to give during difficult times could limit opportunities for families, while responsible spiritual and financial stewardship could help create a stronger legacy for children.

Building Pledge and Prayers

At the close of the sermon, the superintendent led a special appeal for building pledges to support the expansion and roofing of the district headquarters.

He encouraged members to contribute to the project and led prayers against generational poverty. The sermon ended with prayers and prophetic declarations concerning elevation, financial break- through and a multiplied harvest for faithful givers.

The 2026 CAC Gwako DCC Abuja Harvest Thanksgiving Service therefore combined worship and celebration with messages on national hope, community responsibility, humanitarian support and the role of faith during difficult economic times.
