The Acting Director General of National Youth Service Corps NYSC, Mrs Christy Ifeyinwa Uba has advised Prospective Corps Members deployed for 2022 Batch ‘C’ Stream Two Service year to serve as good ambassadors of their institutions, families and the scheme.
According to the statement released on Tuesday by NYSC Spokesman Eddy Megwa, the Ag DG said discipline, loyalty, dedication, honesty and other good virtues should be their watchword during the service year.
Which was disclosed while making a nationwide virtual address to the Prospective Corps Members and Camp Officials.
Uba, who earlier congratulated them on the successful completion of their studies, urged the Prospective Corps Members to participate actively in all camp activities.
She advised them to use the opportunity of the Orientation Course to make new friends and also promote the unity and integration of the country.
Speaking further, Uba admonished the Prospective Corps Members to embrace the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme of the Scheme, which was designed to empower Corps Members with skills that will enable them become business owners.
She warned them against cybercrime, unauthorized journeys and other social vices that can endanger their lives.
The Ag DG added that the Social Media must be used to further unite the country instead of spreading unfounded information.
“Avoid the wrong use of Social Media. Always visit the NYSC Social Media platforms for up-to-date information. All services on camp are free”, she said.
