The Association of Corporate Online Editors (ACOE) on Thursday, has announced the successful adoption of its constitution during a special Congress session at the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

In a statement released by the association spokesman, Seun Ibukun-Oni revealed that this milestone marks a significant step in strengthening the governance framework of the association and ensuring its operations are guided by a clear set of principles.
Reading of the preamble of the newly adopted constitution states: “We, the members of ASSOCIATION OF CORPORATE ONLINE EDITORS (ACOE), a non-political organisation, do firmly and solemnly resolve to provide for ourselves a constitution and to be governed by the provisions therein contained.

The constitution, an 18-page document comprising 34 articles, was the result of the dedicated efforts of the Constitution Drafting Committee, which was inaugurated on June 13, 2024.
The committee, chaired by Nnamdi Okosieme and comprising the following members, worked tirelessly to produce a thorough and inclusive document: Nnamdi Okosieme as the Chairman, Queen Kunde, the Secretary, Chidi Ugwu Member, Chux Ukwuatu Member and Osby Isibor also a Member.

The Spokesman further narrated that after an exhaustive deliberation by members in attendance, the motion for the adoption of the constitution was moved by Frederick Idehai and seconded by Emmanuel Onuh.

The Chairman, Mr. Martins Odiete in his speech commended the committee for their excellent and meticulous work in drafting the constitution. He expressed his appreciation for their commitment to creating a document that reflects the values, goals, and aspirations of the association.
Odiete assured all members that they would each receive a copy of the constitution, emphasizing its importance as a guiding document for the association’s activities.

Members in attendance were visibly elated at this significant development, recognizing it as a historic moment that solidifies ACOE’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and unity within its ranks.

The adoption of the constitution reinforces ACOE’s position as a leading body of online editors in Nigeria and provides a solid foundation for its continued growth and impact in the media landscape.
