The United Kingdom Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak has promised that his country will fast track new green investments in Kenya.
Rishi Sunak spoke on Monday at the Sideline of the Climate Change Conference COP27 in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, when he held bilateral talks with Kenya President, William Ruto.
The Minister said his administration was keen to use the 2022 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27) to deepen the British investment partnership with Kenya.
He lauded Kenya for pioneering climate leadership and pledged to further support the country in advancing regional peace and security.
“We will extend every support to Kenya to ensure it plays this role successfully. Some of the investments include the Malindi Solar Expansion, Menengai Geothermal, Grand High Falls Dam, Nairobi Railway City, among others”, the Minister told the Kenyan President.
President Ruto said Kenya was determined to furthering cooperation with the UK, particularly in the areas of security in the Horn of Africa, energy, agriculture and infrastructure.
