The Arewa Revival Project through Arewa Youth Development, has expressed deep concern about the brazen refusal of Abba Kabir Yusuf and Sanusi Lamido Sanusi to obey court orders on their resort to using thugs to disrupt the peace in Kano State over the Emirship tussle.

According to the statement released by the Project Coordinator on Monday stating that this reckless behavior poses a significant threat to national security, and the group demands that the Defense Minister, National Security Advisor, and the law enforcement agencies take immediate action to address this situation.

Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, Thursday, reinstated Muhammad Sanusi II as Emir of Kano, four years after he was deposed, saying the decision to return him to the stool is in the best interest of the state and its people.

Arewa said, “The refusal of these individuals to respect the judiciary and the rule of law is a dangerous precedent that undermines the very fabric of our democracy. Their use of thugs to intimidate and disrupt the peace in Kano State is a criminal act that must be met with swift and decisive action”.

The group urged the Defense Ministry, National Security Advisor, and law enforcement agencies to: Ensure the immediate compliance with court orders by Abba Kabir Yusuf and Sanusi Lamido Sanusi.

Take all necessary measures to protect the people of Kano State and maintain law and order. Investigate and prosecute all those involved in the use of thugs and violence, and Guarantee safety and security of the Emir of Kano and other stakeholders.
The group siad, “The people of Nigeria demand that our leaders respect the rule of law and prioritize the safety and security of all citizens. We will continue to monitor this situation and hold our leaders accountable for their actions”.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, report has it that the supporters of the recently deposed Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, took to the streets of Kano to protest against the reinstatement of Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II.
