The Federal Government with profound sadness has received the news of the passing of respected veteran journalist, prolific writer, and a politician, Alhaji Sidi Ali who died after a long illness.
Minister of Information and National Orientation who on behalf of the federal govt extended deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Alhaji Sidi Ali, prayed that Ali’s soul rest in peace, and his memory be a source of comfort and strength during this difficult time.
Paying tribute to this veteran, the Minister said Sidi Ali’s contributions to the field of journalism, literature, and politics have left an indelible mark on the country and his loss will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
“Throughout his illustrious career, Alhaji Sidi Ali exemplified high standards of professionalism and integrity and provided invaluable insights with historical references into the pressing issues of our time. His eloquent writing style captivated audiences and earned him widespread acclaim”, the Minister attributed.
Also, the former President, Muhammadu Buhari on Friday mourned the demise of noted journalist, author, and politician, Sidi Hamid Ali, who passed away after a long illness.
Calling the late journalist a creative writer, the ex-President said Sidi won his admiration when he wrote an excellent book chronicling his war against the twin evils of corruption and indiscipline as Military Head of State and followed up with another publication on his accomplishments as an elected civilian president.
According to him, “I am pained by the demise of noted journalist, author, and politician, Sidi H. Ali, who won my heart and that of many through his critical writings and the two books he wrote about me. He was a creative writer. My condolences to his family and admirers.”
Report has it that Sidi Ali, a distinguished journalist and Second Republic lawmaker, passed away on Thursday evening aged of 86, he was buried in the new Masjid Sahaba along Maiduguri road, Kano State on Friday.
