The National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party SDP, Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabam has reiterated the Party’s organizational structure in terms of it readiness to face elections in Nigeria.

He also reiterated how the party is changing the dynamics through practical sacrifice of time and leisure by making sure democracy Nigerians picked as a nation is preserved and undiluted.

Alh. Gabam made this statement on 26th August in Abuja at the Party’s National Headquarters during a courtesy call by the Association of Corporate Online Editors (ACOE) ahead of it investiture.
The SDP National Chairman speaking on what the party did differently in the 2023 elections said” as dynamics are shifting there’s a need for creativity and as such, reorganizing the party’s image, engaging the best hands as all the party’s candidates are serious minded people.

“Which is why the Party is witnessing traffic every day with Very Important Persons joining it because they offer value in security, integration, economics and a whole lots more that other parties are not offering. And this, has made the party a referral point in terms of growth.

SDP Chairman however noted that the party do not have the logistics to challenge the APC and PDP’s dominance yet, but the party is gradually meeting up to challenge the political system where it is not about money as there’s a place money cannot apply.

“You have to apply different strategies to win elections because we’ve seen how money has damaged the electoral system and killed the mindset of an average Nigerian that their votes will not count.

“However, SDP is also existing to help citizens know how to exercise their franchise and making sure their votes counts as it not all about casting votes but the law permits voters to stay around the parameters in ensuring their votes counts”.

The SDP National Chairman further added to the uniqueness of the party as they mobilize youths for active participation by going to campuses to orient students on the need to be actively involved in politics.

Also, they charge 0% for the disabled to contest elections, Women pay only expression of interest, Youths 50%. Furthermore, the party’s dynamism in having four 4 women at the National Working Committee NWC, is an inclusive party and says a lot on how intentional they are.

Gabam further buttressed the fact that SDP is the first party in the history of Nigeria to have a digital studio where there are standard equipments including drones to cover party events and other activities.

Speaking on the forthcoming local government elections, Gabam says the party is fully ready for the elections however, hopes Independent Electoral Commission INEC will deliver on their mandate while commending the move by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on making local governments financially independent.

The National Chairman of the SDP however, commended the delegation of the ACOE and charged them to always practice factual journalism, speak to the truth at all times and present stories accurately to enable the society grow.
