Minister of State for Works, Barrister Bello Mohammed Goronyo has revealed that the current government inherited over 2,600 road projects, with a total worth of about 19 trillion naira.
Goronyo disclosed this at the Nigeria Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Summit in Abuja, hosted by the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC), with the theme: Role of Public- Private Partnerships in Delivering the Renewed Hope Agenda”.

He actively participated in an impactful panel discussion, where he emphasised the commitment of the administration of the President, Ahmed Bola Tinibu to fix Nigeria’s infrastructural deficit, revealing that the country has over 200,000km of roads 35,000,km of which are of Federal.
He explained that since the nation’s budget cannot fund these federal road projects, there is a necessity for PPP to stand as a feasible option while pointed to the need for concessionaires to be open, transparent in their agreement.

The Minister who said the federal govt cannot in the name of PPP, mortgage the country by signing agreements that tend to favour concessionaires, expressed appreciation to the President Tinubu for recognising infrastructure as key driver of economic growth and development.

The Nigeria Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Summit 2025 assembled policy makers, investors, and industry leaders to engage in insightful discussions about the evolving landscape of infrastructure in Nigeria and its global implications.
