GreenLand News Magazine, in partnership with the Young Entrepreneurs and Innovators Foundation (YEI Foundation), on Saturday held its Annual Lecture/Award Ceremony in Abuja with the theme: “Building a Future of Impact: Media, Innovation, and Youth Empowerment.”

In her welcome address, the Editor-in-Chief of GreenLand News Magazine, Amb. Dr. Peace Ofeoshi, emphasized the vital role of media, technology, and youth engagement in building a more inclusive and innovative society.

She noted that empowering young people with the right tools and opportunities is essential for shaping a stronger future.

According to her, “The media remains a powerful force for accountability and storytelling. Innovation opens new pathways for growth and solutions.

“And our youth—energetic, creative, and resilient—hold the key to transforming these opportunities into real impact”.

Ofeoshi further stressed the importance of collaboration among institutions, communities, and young innovators to drive national and continental development.
The Chairman of the occasion, Comrade Shanabo Abubakar, also delivered a goodwill message focusing on youth employment and capacity-building.

He highlighted the need for deliberate investment in youth training, emphasizing that skill development is the foundation for sustainable job creation.

He said, “Nigeria’s young population is an asset, not a burden. What they need is structured training, mentorship, and access to platforms that can help them become employers of labour. When we invest in youth skills, we reduce unemployment and strengthen our economy.”
He called on government agencies, private organizations, and development partners to intensify efforts toward equipping young people with practical, industry-relevant skills.

The event brought together media professionals, policymakers, innovators, youth leaders, and development stakeholders dedicated to driving positive change.

While awards were presented to distinguished individuals, organizations for excellence, leadership, and contributions to community advancement.

GreenLand News Magazine reaffirmed its commitment to promoting impactful storytelling, supporting youth-focused initiatives, and driving conversations that strengthen national development.
