NIPR honors Goronyo: A renewed commitment to strategic communication

The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has bestowed its prestigious Fellowship upon the Minister of State for Works, Hon. Bello Muhammad Goronyo, recognizing his significant contributions to strategic communication, exemplary leadership, and national development.

The conferment, which took place on Thursday, marks one of the Institute’s highest distinctions, reserved for the individuals who have demonstrated exceptional influence in advancing the ideals and professional standards of public relations both within Nigeria and internationally.

Goronyo’s consistent efforts in fostering transparency, strengthening government citizen engagement, institutionalizing effective communication as a crucial tool for infrastructure delivery and the public service were highlighted as key reasons for this esteemed recognition.


Goronyo’s approach is in strong alignment with Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritizes the inclusive governance, accountability, sustainable national development, with a particular focus on accelerating infrastructure development across the nation.

Throughout his tenure, the Minister has consistently emphasized clear, proactive, and responsible communication in the execution of vital infrastructure projects nationwide.

This commitment has played a pivotal role in enhancing public trust, improving
stakeholder engagement, and ensuring that Nigerian citizens are well-informed about government initiatives and ongoing infrastructural advancements.
In his remarks, the Minister urged the NIPR to further leverage its influential platforms and institutional capacity to promote public awareness of policies, programs, and achievements of the Tinubu administration, especially concerning infrastructure development under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

He underscored the Institute’s critical
responsibility, as the nation’s foremost professional communication body, to effectively inform the public about the ongoing infrastructural projects, policy reforms, and the tangible impact of government efforts on national development.

Expressing profound appreciation for the honor, Goronyo, described the Fellowship as both a recognition of past service and a renewed call to greater responsibility.
He reiterated the indispensable role of ethical and professional communication in governance for building public confidence in institutions and sustaining
development outcomes.

The Minister also reaffirmed his dedication to supporting initiatives that promote professionalism, capacity development, and adherence to global
best practices within the public relations sector.

Alongside Minister Goronyo, several other distinguished personalities from various sectors were also honored as Honorary Fellow-Designates, acknowledging their significant impact on governance, education, security, traditional leadership, and media development.
