NYSC to Deploy AI for Smoother Online Registration

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is set to introduce artificial intelligence- enabled technology to simplify online registration for Prospective Corps Members.

NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, disclosed this while interacting with members of the 2026 Batch ‘C’ Stream One at the Delta State Orientation Camp in Issele-Uku.

Nafiu said the initiative would help ensure that all eligible graduates successfully register on the NYSC portal, in line with emerging developments in the information and communication technology sector.

He added that the Scheme would gradually migrate some of its operations to technology-driven platforms to improve efficiency, service delivery and user experience.

The NYSC chief also announced plans to improve the quality of kits supplied to Corps Members from next year.

He urged the Corps Members to make the most of their deployment to Delta State by building meaningful friendships and professional networks that could benefit them beyond their service year.

Nafiu further encouraged them to acquire practical skills, embrace entrepreneurship and cultivate a culture of saving.

“Learn new skills, and people will value your skills. Buy shares because you have great opportunities to venture into commodity trading after your service year,” he advised.

Earlier, the NYSC Delta State Coordinator, Mr John Kwaghe, reported that 1,697 Corps Members had been registered at the camp, while 1,094 others were dislodged from Lagos State to the Delta camp.

The announcement marks a significant step in the NYSC’s efforts to modernise its operations and make registration and other services more accessible to young Nigerians.
