Tinubu’s Reforms Set Stage for Investment, Jobs — Idris

The Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda is laying the groundwork for increased investment, enterprise and long-term economic growth, Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has said.

Idris made the assertion on Tuesday in Abuja in a speech delivered on his behalf by the Director-General of the Voice of Nigeria, Jibrin Baba Ndace, at the New Nigeria Festival.

He said the administration’s reforms were designed to create a stable environment for businesses while widening opportunities for Nigerians to participate meaningfully in the economy.

According to him, ideas alone cannot create prosperity without access to capital, skills, infrastructure, markets and policies that enable businesses to grow.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda is built around that same challenge.

“The administration has undertaken major reforms to create a more stable environment for investment, enterprise and long-term growth, while expanding opportunities for Nigerians to participate in the economy,” Idris said.

The minister noted that Nigeria’s youthful population was already showing immense potential in technology, creative industries, digital services, manufacturing and entrepreneurship.

He said the government’s responsibility was to transform that potential into viable businesses, jobs and export opportunities.

“The challenge before us is therefore straightforward: we must move from ideas to execution, from talent to opportunity, and from opportunity to measurable results,” he said.

Idris identified the Hire From Nigeria campaign, launched in August, as a key initiative aimed at connecting Nigerian professionals, skilled workers, digital experts, creatives and service providers with international employers and markets.

He described the programme as a shift in Nigeria’s export strategy, stressing that the country must look beyond commodities to export knowledge, skills, creativity and professional services.

The minister also highlighted the Digital Training Academy, launched in September, which seeks to equip Nigerians with digital skills and professional certifications.

He urged festival participants to forge partnerships capable of turning ideas into businesses, jobs, exports and practical solutions for national development.
