Purple Crown Gymnastics Club hold fun-day event in Abuja

Gymnastics known to be a physical exercise designed to develop strength, coordination, a competitive sport in which individuals perform optional and prescribed aerobics feats mostly on special apparatus in order to balance and body control.

The Purple Crown Gymnastics Club on Saturday held her fun-day grading event at the Chalk work School, Wuse 2, Abuja.

The fun-day event witnessed by many gymnastics sports lovers and children from different schools in the Federal Capital Territory, Nigeria.

Gymnastics is known as the hardest sport in the world. Many people don’t understand why it’s so difficult, but at Purple Crown Gymnastics Club, we know all too well!

This year’s event has some new features such as the kid’s Drama section and the Beauty pageant, the organizer and the head coach Martha Gabriel explained that the scores from the session determines the medalist in the team competition.

The Format is 4-3-3, meaning that of the four gymnastics on the team, three compete on each event, and All the three scores count.
Women compete on four events: vault, uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise, while men compete on six events: floor exercise, pommel horse, still rings, vault, parallel bars, and high bar.

The event consists mainly on the use of various gymnastic apparatus, as well as the use of the floor for different exercises.

One of the parents Mrs. Sofia Gbillah expressed her Joy and congratulated the organizers of the event, she was of the view that the Purple Crown Gymnastics Club is the best amongst the others.

Last year’s event Mrs Gbillah has only one of her child participated in the event, but this year she has two of her kids participating in the event and she is very much better with the kids participating in the gymnastics grading and beauty pageant.
Another parent from Denmark, El Ouargui-Krogstrup said he is happy that the culture of gymnastics is been cultivated amongst the Youth’s in Nigeria with a lot of potential.

He added that they are very happy with the organization but they will be going back to Ethiopia as his tenure ends in few months.


He thanked the organizers encouraging them to also get more inputs into the event such as the kids Drama section and the parents aerobics.

Another Response from Mr. Kelechi Duru who is always with the purple crown gymnastics club from the first edition in his speech advices parents to come together to encourage these kids.

He also asked parents to cheer up their kids involved in the Gymnastics Club that it makes the children have this flexibility and exercise to watch overweight amongst the children and families, he said he had been with the club for the past 5 years and that his kids are doing well.

Mr Duru called on Company’s like Indomie Noodles, Coca-Cola, the Nigerian Football Federation and the Ministry of Youth’s and Sports including personalities like Obi Cubana, Davido and other celebrities to come over and sponsor the event.

The organizer of the event said gymnastics grading is the most decorated games in the history of Sports in the world” and promised to be better next edition.
