Nigerian Minister of State for Works, HMSW, Muhammad Bello Goronyo, has stated that road infrastructure is critical and fundamental to national development.
Which the Minister said its opens up a lot of economic activities, direct and indirect jobs to be created, businesses will flourish, youths will be gainfully employed and insecurity will be a thing of the past.
“This is why the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu under Renewed Hope Agenda, believes in providing infrastructural projects to combat the many challenges facing the country”, he added.
Goronyo recalled that the President recently flagged of Sokoto-Badagry superhighway, the Lagos – Calabar Coastal highway, while many other road projects are ongoing across the nation to open economic opportunities that will fast track economic prosperity for Nigerians.
Goronyo made this remark at the official flag off of the construction of internal roads within Yewa – Awori division in Ogun State on Wednesday 4th, December, 2024.
He also paid glowing tributes to Senator Olamilekan Adeola, representing Ogun West Senatorial District, who initiated the project, the Paramount ruler of the community, the MD/CEO of FERMA and all the various interest groups within the locality.
The MD/CEO of the Federal Emergency Roads Maintenance Agency, FERMA, Engr. Chukwuemeka Agbasi, who also spoke at the event, appreciated the Federal Govt under President Tinubu, for initiating massive road infrastructure projects as well as the repairs and the maintenance of failed roads across the length and breadth of the country.
He announced that the construction of the road project, which will last for 11 months, will not only be handled but also maintained regularly by FERMA.
“The road will encourage the agrarian community to be able to engage in farming and other economic activities, help social interactions and offer real time value to the community,” the MD concluded.
