The Sisters of Jannah (SOJ), a non-governmental Organization has seeked for financial support from Government, individuals, Private and Corporate Companies to embark on amazing projects for women and children in Kano State.
SOJ Kano Zonal Coordinator, Rashidat Salisu Tiamiyu who made this appeal in an interview with the Media Bypass News Editor recently, said SOJ Kano Zone is facing a lot of challenges, amongst which is financial constraints.
She said the Organization has a lot of amazing projects for women and children but lack of enough fund is a major problem, adding that not having a Secretariat where the SOJ will operate from is another issue, making it difficult for Kano residents to get access to them.
Tiamiyu urged Kano State Goverment to come to their aid in getting a suitable Secretariat for them. “We will be pleased if the government can assist us with a place we can use as our Secretariat and also be ready to support financially anytime we approach them”, she said.
However, she said members have tried to raise some funds to execute some projects and recently they have began to source for funds from prominent individuals, Organizations, while hoping to build a good and lasting relationship with them.
Speaking on the organization’s impact on Kano people, she said SOJ have impacted positively in the lives of women and children in need, widows, helpless revert among others through their charitable projects.
According to her, “We have been able to educate women, empower them, support their dreams, in cash and kind. We also do assist women with cancer and enlightened women on preventing cancer, by creating awareness on the causes and preventive measures”.
In her Eid al-fitr message, SOJ Kano Coordinator encouraged Muslim women to get enough knowledge of their Deen, not to lose themselves in order to please human, asking them to leave a happy life, follow their dreams and never allow any hinderance.
“Sister of Jannah (SOJ) has supported Muslim women; with membership cutting across all over the world, Muslim women in Nigerian forming the main membership as the group is domiciled in Nigeria with zones spread nationwide with sparse membership living abroad and overseas.
“SOJ is a formal structured organisation under the laws of the land with a constitution binding its actions. Sisters of Jannah is a non- profit organisation focused on the Islamic values of fairness, service to others, and community building”, Sister Tiamiyu added.
