Nigerian Minister of Works, Senator (Engr) David Umahi commended the Ebonyi State First Lady, Chief Mary-Maudline Ogbonna Nwifuru for her modest efforts in raising the sense of self-worth women in the State through her empowerment and enlightenment programmes.
In a statement released by the Minister on the auspicious occasion of the 2024 Ebonyi Women Day Celebration scheduled to hold on 15th November 2024, heartily convey his profound felicitations to the Excellency, Wife of the Governor of Ebonyi State.

The Minister also pleased to join the First Lady in welcoming the mother of the nation and wife of the President of the Republic of Nigeria, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, to Ebonyi State, honouring with her esteemed presence in this year’s Women Day Celebration themed: “Uplifting Women for Sustainable Development.”
Umahi said, “This celebration always offers a delightful moment in sharing the memories of progressive accomplishments of our dear women and acknowledging their pride of place in the social and economic advancement of the nation.

“Indeed investing in the upliftment of women through empowerment and capacity building sets a direct path towards gender equality, poverty alleviation and inclusive economic growth; it inspires our women to cultivate the ideals of womanhood.
“As exemplified by the women role models such as the First Lady of Federal Republic of Nigeria, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, who has played magnificent roles in the advancement of nation-building”, the Minister acknowledged.

He asked the Ebonyi First Lady to accept the assurances of the cheerful considerations, esteemed regards, and best wishes of his family, the management and staff of the Federal Ministry of Works. “Once more congratulations”, Umahi said.
