The three-member tribunal on Saturday struck out the petition filed by Ladi Adebutu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), saying it is “incompetent, defective, disjunctive and lack merits.”

In its unanimous judgement that took close to 12 hours to read, the tribunal said Mr Abiodun was duly returned in the 18 March election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The Governor on X (former Twitter) congratulated everyone who have contributed to this achievement, saying the Party’s tireless campaign efforts across Ogun State have been recognized as a testament to their determination.

According to him, “I deeply appreciate the judiciary, led by Justice Kunaza, for their transparent and diligent dispensation of justice.

My sincere thanks to our legal team, led by Chief Wole Olanipekun SAN and Prof Osipitan, Dr. Muiz Banire, our dear father, Chief Olusegun Osoba.

“The All Progressives Congress – APC, Ogun State under Chief Yemi Sanusi, and my dedicated cabinet members, as well as my family and friends, for their unwavering support”.

“I must acknowledge the significant role that each one of you played in this triumph. Your collective efforts, perseverance, and belief in our cause have contributed to our success.

“Whether you were a part of our dedicated campaign team, a loyal supporter, or a volunteer who selflessly contributed time and energy, your contribution has been invaluable. This victory would not have been possible without your trust, resilience, and support.
