The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has officially postponed the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream I Orientation Course for the Prospective Corps Members deployed to Niger State.
The delay comes in the wake of a severe windstorm that have caused extensive damage to the NYSC Orientation Camp in Paiko.
According to a press statement released by Caroline Embu, the Scheme Director of Information and Public Relations, the postponement is a necessary measure to ensure the safety and comfort of the incoming corps members.
The Niger State Government has already commenced urgent renovation work to repair the damaged facilities at the Paiko camp.
In response to the unforeseen natural disaster, the NYSC Management is actively working to secure an alternative venue for the orientation course.
Affected Prospective Corps Members
have been advised to remain patient, as a new commencement date and further details regarding the alternative location will be communicated in due course.
The NYSC Management expressed sincere regrets for the inconvenience the sudden change may cause to these prospective corps members and their families, appealing for understanding and cooperation during this period.
